Accessible UI/UX Design

iOS devices use accessibility features such as VoiceOver screen reader. As a result, iPhones have been widely adopted by the blind community. The design challenge for this project was to create an iOS application that enables an individual with an advanced visual impairment to use iBeacons in an environment with minimal sighted assistance. This project was assigned during my junior year in the NC State University College of Design, and was accomplished by a group of four members.

UI Design Choices

In order to make a clear, concise application for the visually impaired, my team created a very streamlined interface. Our research led to this design choice, which is proven to be effective for visually impaired users. It allows the user to quickly and easily set up iBeacons and use them in the future.
